A Criminal Encounter

As Glanni woke up, he found himself laying on the floor of what looked like an abandoned warehouse. He blinked, rubbing at his eyes, confused as to his surroundings. Sitting up, he looked around. Yeah, it was definitely an abandoned warehouse.

He knew that since becoming an ACME CrimeNet liaison, even though he was still (secretly) friends with Carmen, her henchmen wouldn’t be so keen on him, and wouldn’t hesitate to fight with him as they would the detectives.

Glanni tried to remember exactly what had led to him ending up in such a place, but it was fuzzy at best. He remembered discussing the case with the guys at CrimeNet’s offices, but… after that, he had no real recollection.

“Oh, you’re awake~!” A sing-songy voice called out. Looking in the direction of the voice, it took a few moments for Glanni to realize who the voice belonged to; a young girl stepped out of the shadows, hands behind her back, an almost sweet aura to her. He stared at her; she looked familiar, but yet, he wasn’t sure as to this girl’s identity.

She smiled at him, and then pulled a knife from behind her back. Glanni was frozen where he sat. The girl laughed hysterically. “Now we’re going to have some fun!” her voice had taken an almost angry tone.

Glanni had a sudden realization. “Jacqueline Hyde…”

The girl smiled sadistically. “What? Nobody warned you about me?”
