CrimeNet in LazyTown - Chapter 9

Scott ran out of the apartment, and down the hall to where Mrs. Pumpkin-Klanger lived. He knocked on the door, glancing back towards the apartment he shared with his fellow detectives. After what seemed like an eternity, the door opened.

“Everything all right, dear?” Mrs. Pumpkin-Klanger asked, a small ‘potion’ bottle in her hand.

“No… it’s going bad real fast.”

“How bad?” she asked, heading back to the guys’ apartment.

“Sean didn’t say anything, but he looked like he was on the verge of tears.”

“Oh dear.”

As they arrived, Sean was again on the bed with Glanni in his arms. As Scott walked in with Mrs. Pumpkin-Klanger, Sean looked up at them, wiping his eyes.

Glanni was as white as a sheet. Mrs. Pumpkin-Klanger reached down, gently touching the Fae’s face. He was still quite warm and slightly feverish.

“I’ve got the antidote. I just hope I’m not too late,” she commented, opening the potion bottle. She pulled out a syringe, filling it with some of the antidote. “Show me again where the wound is.”

Sean placed Glanni out of his arms and onto the bed. He moved the Fae’s shirt up and again moved the bandage.

“I have to inject it directly into the wound. It’s going to be painful, I’m afraid.”

As Mrs. Pumpkin-Klanger injected the antidote into Glanni, the Fae seemed to flinch slightly. Sean was relieved to see Glanni react in some way. He only hoped he wasn’t experiencing too much pain.

“Now what?” Sean asked, looking at Mrs. P.

“We wait. If all goes well, he should begin to improve in the next couple of hours, making a full recovery in at least a day or so.”

“And if it doesn’t?”

“Then he won’t wake up, and slowly slip away.”

Sean blinked back tears at the thought. He looked at Glanni, laying once again motionless, the only signs he was still alive being his rather shallow breathing.

No one could relax for those first couple of hours, constantly taking turns looking in on Glanni, making sure that he was still alive. Sean sat on the edge of the bed, gently stroking the Fae’s hair. He wasn’t feverish and hot anymore, which he believed to be a good sign. He just hoped Glanni would wake up, and soon.
