CrimeNet in LazyTown - Chapter 3

Glanni was eerily quiet the whole ride back. Usually, he’d be making jokes and flirting with the boys – especially Sean – but he sat in the back of the car, leaning against the window. Once they had returned to CrimeNet, he was slow to get out of the car. The boys shared a concerned look amongst themselves, but weren’t sure if they should say anything.

Noticing the way they were looking at him, Glanni broke the silence. “What?”

“Nothing. You’re just acting a little… off.” Scott stated.

Glanni shrugged. “Like I said before, just tired and a bit shaken up. Now, come on, let’s get inside and let Greg and Chief know what went down and what we learned.”

As they walked in, Greg was sitting at his desk, looking over some paperwork. He looked up from the notes. “You guys are back! Great! Learn anything that could be of some potential?”

“Yeah, we did.” Glanni replied. “We ended up…” he trailed off, unable to find his words. The room was spinning, or at least that’s how it seemed to him.

Greg shared the same look of concern that the boys had. “Glanni?”

The Fae snapped out of it. “RoboCrook… we ended up meeting RoboCrook.”

The Senior Detective couldn’t help but chuckle. “Carmen’s scraping the bottom of the barrel tonight, it seems.”

“The bottom…? Yeah… yeah, she is.” Crap. His words were slurring; it was harder for him to concentrate.

Greg, Sean, Scott, Barry, and Elliott were so ‘fixated’ on Glanni, concerned for the Fae’s well-being, that they hadn’t even noticed The Chief had walked out of her office, and had been listening with interest. She, too, was concerned.

“Glanni…” her voice broke the brief silence. “What happened? You’re not… acting right.”

“Just tired… it didn’t go well.”

“No?”

Glanni shook his head. “Called RoboCrook “Tin Can” too many times. He got angry and threw me across the way, landed in a pile of junk. So I’m a little sore…”

He could feel that blood was still coming out of his warded wound. Trying to continue speaking, it was apparent that his breathing was becoming heavy.

“He said… the loot is…” Glanni shut his eyes, trying to shake off his body’s reaction to his injuries. “The loot is in MayhemTown, possibly.”

“That’s where we’ll look then. Now, you boys all better go get a good night’s sleep.” Chief replied, turning her attention to Glanni. “And you, I think you should probably go to the hospital.”

Glanni shook his head. “I’m fine… need sleep.”

Chief was skeptical, but didn’t push the issue further. “I’m sure the boys wouldn’t mind if you stayed with them.”

Glanni looked at his four friends, hoping they didn’t notice how glazed over his eyes were becoming.

“Of course he can stay with us. No use trying to head home if you’re this tired, Glanni.” Sean replied.

Glanni gave him a small smile, channeling his magic into trying to stop the bleeding. He was weakening, and it wouldn’t be long before his ward would begin to fade. “Let’s go then.”

Following the boys, he headed towards the elevator, legs shaking.. Once inside, he leaned against the wall. The guys shared a concerned look before Sean spoke. “Either you’re exhausted or something else is going on.” he gently placed a hand on Glanni’s shoulder.

If Glanni hadn’t been in so much pain, he probably would have blushed at his ‘crush’ touching him. It was no secret that the two were quite fond of each other, but neither would admit to being in love. “I’m okay.” Glanni breathed out, more the less trying to convince himself of it.

The elevator reached their floor and before Glanni could even take a step, Sean picked him up, carrying him bridal style into the apartment. The look of surprise was apparent on Glanni’s face, and he wasn’t sure if his heart rate was up due to his injuries or from the bliss of being in Sean’s arms. Glanni blinked slowly, his mind wandering to a thought of maybe, if he was lucky, this would be happening again but on a more happier note.

Without any hesitation, Sean took Glanni into his bedroom, and gently laid him on the bed. “You try to get some sleep, okay?” he said, covering Glanni up. “I’ll go sleep on the couch.” He was about to head out of the room when Glanni spoke.

“No… don’t. Don’t leave me alone…”

Sean stopped in the doorway, turning to look at Glanni.

“I can’t stay… there’s no place for me to sleep.” he replied, awkwardly.

Glanni didn’t answer. He had quickly fallen asleep, body trying to conserve energy to keep his ward up.

Sean looked over at the windowsill; it was big enough that he could make somewhat of a place to sleep. Grabbing covers and a pillow, he set it up, lounging a bit, looking out the window before looking back over at Glanni. He could tell that something wasn’t right.
